Virginia heads into this one still searching for its answer at quarterback. Chandler Morris, whose legal fight for a seventh season of eligibility was shot down in court this spring, won't be walking through that door — instead it's a battle between Missouri transfer Beau Pribula and Pittsburgh transfer Eli Holstein for the keys to an offense that helped turn a 5-win team into an ACC title game participant. Whoever wins that job inherits a genuinely loaded roster, but nobody's had real game reps running it yet.
Wake Forest isn't dealing with nearly that level of uncertainty. Jake Dickert's second season comes with a full offseason of continuity, and the Deacons brought in Gio Lopez, who already has ACC starting experience from his run at North Carolina, to run the show. After capping 2025 with a 43-29 Duke's Mayo Bowl win over Mississippi State, Wake Forest is the more settled program walking into this matchup — even before anyone's priced in how much that settledness is worth.
