Kai-Wei Teng (3-4, 3.06) gets the Tuesday assignment in Anaheim opposite Angels rookie Walbert Ureña (3-4, 2.68). Teng's last time out was a clunker — 5 innings, 4 earned, 1 strikeout against the Pirates on June 4 — but the underlying season line is still very playable. Ureña, meanwhile, has quietly turned into one of the only stable rotation pieces the Halos have, and his last start against Colorado was a 6-inning, 7-K outing with one walk too many for comfort.
First pitch is 8:38 PM CT and the market has Houston as a slight road favorite at -120 with the total parked at 8.5. Pinnacle's fair probability pegs the Astros at 53.3%, which tracks for a team that just took the opener 5-4 on the same field 24 hours ago. The Angels at 25-42 are very much the team you'd expect to be staring up at that number.

The injury sheet is where this one tilts. The Astros are without Hunter Brown, Lance McCullers Jr., Cristian Javier, Ronel Blanco, Hayden Wesneski and Brandon Walter — that's basically a whole rotation in rehab gear, which is why Teng is making starts in the first place. Yainer Diaz is close to a rehab assignment but isn't walking through the door tonight, and LaMonte Wade Jr. is now day-to-day after leaving Monday's game with right hamstring soreness.

- Day-To-DayLaMonte Wade Jr. 1B — Wade left Monday's game against the Angels with right hamstring soreness, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

- 15-Day-ILJack Kochanowicz SP — The Angels placed Kochanowicz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation.
- 60-Day-ILYoan Moncada 3B — Moncada will need surgery on his right knee, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
- 60-Day-ILTravis d'Arnaud C — D'Arnaud (foot) told reporters Saturday that he does not have a timetable for his return from the 10-day injured list, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The Angels' list isn't any prettier. Yoan Moncada is headed for knee surgery, Jorge Soler is on the 10-day with an oblique, and both Adam Frazier and Vaughn Grissom are down at second base. Nolan Schanuel just got activated from the IL, which at least gives Kurt Suzuki's lineup a real first baseman again. Travis d'Arnaud still doesn't have a return timetable behind the plate.
The honest read: Houston is shorthanded but the Angels are worse off and just lost to this same group last night. If Teng gives them 5 useful innings the bullpen should be able to close it out and ship LA to 25-43. The Astros aren't running away from the AL West at 31-37, but games like this one are how you stop the bleeding.
