On the mound — starting pitchers.

Atlanta has the best record in the National League and a rotation getting healthier by the week. Strider's line looks pristine on the surface — 1-0, 2.45 ERA — but the reality is messier. His season debut at Coors was a 5-walk, 3 1/3-inning slog before he settled in with a pair of quieter outings. This is still a pitcher rebuilding his rhythm, not the 2023 strikeout machine humming at full tilt.

Sandy Alcantara, meanwhile, is the only thing holding the Marlins' rotation together. The 3.53 ERA is a return to form after a rough 2025, though his last start before this one ran into trouble — he gave up 7 runs and recently has struggled to miss bats at his usual rate. He'll need to be sharp because the Miami offense is not bailing anyone out.

The injury report is where this matchup tilts further. Atlanta is without both catchers in Sean Murphy (8-week finger absence) and Drake Baldwin, plus Kyle Farmer at DH and Jurickson Profar gone for the year on the PED suspension. They've won 34 games anyway. Miami is missing rotation depth in Robby Snelling and Adam Mazur, which is partly why every Alcantara start feels like a must-have.

The market has Atlanta as a solid favorite and it is hard to argue against that read. The Braves are -136 at Pinnacle, the run line is split between books at -1 and -1.5, and the total is sitting in that 7-7.5 zone where Strider-vs-Alcantara totals usually land. DK has heavy money on the Braves moneyline and on the over, which makes sense for a public game but the EV numbers say there is no real edge anywhere on the board.

The pick-your-poison angle: do you trust Strider's surface stats or his shaky command? Do you trust Alcantara to be the version that anchors a rotation or the one who gave up 7 last time out? Atlanta should win this game. They have been winning most of them. Just don't expect a clean 9 innings from either starter.
