On the mound — starting pitchers.

The Brewers are 25-17 and have won 4 of their last 5, which is roughly the version of this team everyone expected. They lead the NL Central conversation behind a pitching staff that entered the series with a top-3 ERA in baseball, and now they get a Twins club still trying to claw back to .500 from a brutal April.

Logan Henderson gets the ball for Milwaukee. He's 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in a small big-league sample, but the underlying story is louder than the line — he was carving up Triple-A Nashville with a 1.02 ERA and 26 punchouts in 17.2 innings before the call-up, then struck out 5 over 5 in his home debut against the Yankees on May 10. The Brewers are essentially auditioning him for a permanent rotation spot while Brandon Woodruff, Quinn Priester, and Jacob Misiorowski deal with various issues.

Minnesota counters with Connor Prielipp, the Wisconsin-native lefty making his 5th MLB start. He's 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, but the Twins are openly managing his workload — each of his last 3 outings has been exactly 5 innings, and they pushed this start back a day for extra rest after Taj Bradley hit the IL. Translation: even if Prielipp is dealing, expect the Twins bullpen — which has been one of the worst in baseball — to enter no later than the 6th.

Injury report — info via ESPN.

The injury report is where this game gets genuinely interesting. Minnesota was already without Pablo Lopez for the season and Taj Bradley for now, and Friday's lineup card scratched both Byron Buxton (hip) and Trevor Larnach. If those two sit again Saturday, the Twins are running out a lineup missing their best power bat and a left-handed regular against a rookie right-hander. Milwaukee's own list is long, but most of it is pitching depth — Christian Yelich is the name to watch, with the team giving his back "a couple of days" before deciding on the IL.

The market has Milwaukee as a clear favorite — Pinnacle has the Brewers at -119 with a fair win probability of 53.3%, and DraftKings is on the cheap side of that at -109. The total tells you what the books think of these two pitchers and these two bullpens: Pinnacle 8.5, DK pushed up to 9. None of the EV numbers scream value, but the splits on the runline are worth a look.

Best guess for how this plays: short, sharp outings from both starters, Twins relievers asked to do too much, and the Brewers grinding out a mid-single-digit win. Henderson is the more volatile arm of the two, but Milwaukee has the lineup depth and the cleaner pen to cover for a bumpy 4 innings. Twins need Buxton back and Prielipp going 6 to flip the script.
