The Brewers are 26-17 and have won 4 of their last 5. The Twins are 20-26 and just dropped Saturday's game 2-1 on a Jackson Chourio go-ahead solo shot. Sunday is the rubber match of a wraparound set, and Milwaukee gets to roll out a wild-card starter against a guy coming off a complete-game shutout.

Robert Gasser is the story on the visitors' side. This is his first MLB start since June 2024 Tommy John surgery — he made 2 cameo starts last September, then opened 2026 at Triple-A Nashville, where he went 0-0 with a 3.74 ERA across 6 starts. The Brewers are using him here partly to buy an extra day of rest for Misiorowski (quad cramp) and the rest of the rotation heading into Wrigley. The 0.00 ERA on the card is technically true and entirely misleading.
Bailey Ober's last time out he threw a Maddux at the Marlins — 89 pitches, 2 hits, 0 walks, 7 punchouts, complete-game shutout. That dropped his ERA to 3.46 and ran his record to 4-2. The Twins desperately need that version again, because they're getting almost nothing on the position-player side with Byron Buxton (hip) out of Saturday's lineup and Walker Jenkins still recovering from a Grade 2 AC sprain.

The market sees this as a coin-flip leaning Milwaukee. Pinnacle has the Brewers at -118 on the moneyline with a 7.5 total. DraftKings is laying 8.5 and -132 on Milwaukee, which is the line discrepancy you'd expect when a debuting lefty with no track record is on the bump opposite an Ober coming off a masterpiece. The EVs aren't doing anyone any favors — every market in this game is negative for the bettor.
The wrinkle worth watching: Christian Yelich (back) is day-to-day and Pat Murphy said he's trending toward being available Sunday. If Yelich is back in the lineup behind Chourio — who's hitting .318 since returning from a broken hand and just went deep on the first pitch he saw Saturday — the Brewers' top of the order suddenly looks the part again. Get Gasser through 4 or 5 clean and the bullpen takes it from there.
