On the mound — starting pitchers.

The Diamondbacks (21-22) are in Coors for a Saturday matinee with Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound, and the Rockies (17-28) are about as banged-up as a team can be without forfeiting. The line tells you everything: Arizona is laying -131 on the road in Denver, which only happens when the visiting starter is cooking and the home rotation is cooked.

E-Rod is the story. His last time out he went 8.1 against the Mets — the deepest start of his entire career — on just 100 pitches, 4 hits, 3 walks, and 1 run. That pushed him to 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA. Now Arizona points him at a Coors lineup missing Kris Bryant (back, 60-day IL) and getting Tyler Freeman back from paternity. Good timing.

Sugano has actually been one of the few things working in Denver — 3-3, 4.07 ERA is a minor miracle for a Rockies starter — but the underlying numbers (a FIP north of his ERA) suggest the regression alarm is buzzing. Coors doesn't care about defense and timing forever. Pair that with Chase Dollander hitting the 15-day IL this week with arm tightness and Ryan Feltner only just starting a rehab assignment, and Colorado's rotation depth is essentially Sugano and prayer.

Arizona's IL is its own horror show — Corbin Burnes, A.J. Puk, Justin Martinez, Pavin Smith, Carlos Santana setback and all — but the lineup that's actually available has been clicking, and on a day E-Rod takes the ball the bullpen exposure should be manageable. That's the bet here.

DK's total is sitting at 12 with Pinnacle at 11.5, and the over has soaked up 91% of the money despite the EV reading negative on both sides. Sharp money on the Rockies side of the spread (78% of handle on +1.5) is the one nudge that keeps this from being a clean Arizona spot. Pre-game lean: trust the lefty, sweat the altitude.
