First pitch is 1:10 PM CT for the rubber game, and the pitching matchup is closer on paper than the records suggest. Sheehan is 3-3 with a 4.70 ERA, Fedde is 1-5 with a 4.69, and the gap between them right now is mostly about who threw the ball better last time out.
Sheehan is the one with the red flag. His last start against the Angels on June 7 was a 1.1-inning, 49-pitch disaster — 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 earned, charged with the loss. Fedde, meanwhile, has been quietly fine: 5 shutout innings on 61 pitches in Minnesota on June 3, and per White Sox beat coverage he's allowed just 1 earned over his last 10 innings. The Dodgers are still favored, but they're sending the shakier arm.

The series has been a coin flip. Chicago jumped LA 8-2 on Friday, then Yoshinobu Yamamoto carried a perfect game into the 7th on Saturday in a 7-1 Dodgers win that flipped the entire weekend. The White Sox at 37-32 are the surprise here — they're playing legit baseball and just took 2 of 3 from the Braves before this. The Dodgers at 45-26 are still the Dodgers, but they've gone 3-2 over their last 5 and dropped one in Pittsburgh that they had no business losing.
The injury sheet is also doing a lot of work in this one. LA is without Will Smith (neck, 10-day IL), Teoscar Hernandez (hamstring), Kiké Hernandez (oblique tear, 6-to-8 weeks), Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow on the 60-day, plus Edwin Diaz and Evan Phillips out of the bullpen. Tommy Edman is reportedly close — Dave Roberts floated Tuesday as a possible return — but he doesn't help today. The White Sox are missing Kyle Teel, Austin Hays, and Munetaka Murakami, though Teel is also reportedly close to a rehab assignment.

The read on Sunday is whether you trust Fedde's recent form to hang with a depleted but still loaded LA lineup, or whether Sheehan bounces back from a 1.1-inning meltdown the way good arms usually do. Pinnacle has the Dodgers at -180 with a total of 9.5, which says the market is taking the Dodgers' name over Fedde's last two outings. Day game, get-away spot, rubber match — pretty good Sunday baseball if you've got an hour to kill.
