First pitch is 6:40 PM CT, and the Giants are sending Landen Roupp (5-5, 3.30) at a Brewers club that just took 2 of 3 in Houston. Milwaukee counters with lefty Shane Drohan, who's technically 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA but has been working out of the bullpen since April — Monday is essentially a spot start or a long-relief opener after Logan Henderson's back issue scrambled the rotation.
That's the wrinkle nobody's talking about: Drohan's last actual start was April 8 against the Red Sox, and it was ugly — 2.2 innings, 3 earned, 4 walks. He's been very good in short bursts since, but stretching him out cold against a lineup that just hung 19 on Colorado is a different ask. Expect a bullpen game with Pat Murphy mixing and matching early.

The records tell the story — Milwaukee at 35-21 has the best record in the NL, San Francisco at 23-36 is sliding fast. The Giants' lone win in the last 5 was a 19-6 laugher in Coors, which is basically a participation trophy. Outside of that, they've been outscored 26-16 across 4 losses to the Diamondbacks and Rockies.
The injury report does the Giants no favors either. Tyler Mahle is on the 15-day IL with a hamstring strain, Harrison Bader and Heliot Ramos are out of the outfield, and the bullpen is a graveyard — Rowan Wick, Hayden Birdsong, Randy Rodriguez, Jose Butto and Jason Foley are all on the 60-day. Now add Joel Peguero to day-to-day after he tweaked a hamstring in Sunday's win. There is no cavalry.

- 15-Day-ILJared Koenig RP — Koenig (elbow) said his live bullpen session went well Tuesday and he expects to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
- 15-Day-ILBrandon Woodruff SP — The Brewers announced Tuesday that Woodruff (shoulder) is scheduled for a 60-pitch live batting practice session next week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
- 15-Day-ILLogan Henderson SP — Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Henderson might not make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Cardinals due to back tightness, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
- 60-Day-ILAngel Zerpa RP — The Brewers transferred Zerpa (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Pinnacle has the Brewers at -151 with a total of 7.5, which feels about right given Milwaukee owns the third-best team ERA in baseball at 3.17 and the Giants are dragging a 4.33 mark into a road series. If Roupp can keep them in it through 5, the run line at +1.5 (-165) is where this game lives — Milwaukee is more 'win 4-2' than blow you out, especially with their starter situation in flux. Otherwise, lean into the under and let Pat Murphy's bullpen carousel do its thing.
