On the mound — starting pitchers.

Tampa Bay has been the second-best story in the AL East nobody's talking about, and now they get a get-right spot against a Marlins team running out Eury Pérez and his 4.94 ERA in a brunch-time start. Drew Rasmussen, meanwhile, just came off the IL and turned in 6 innings of 1-hit, 0-walk, 7-strikeout work to help finish a sweep of the Yankees. That's the guy Miami has to solve before lunch.

Pérez is the more interesting variable here. The stuff is still loud, but the early-season script has been walks, short outings, and a league-leading stolen-base problem that turns every baserunner into a scoring threat. He showed signs of life with a tidy outing against Milwaukee — in-zone rate jumped from 46% to 57% — but the Rays don't really need help manufacturing runs at home.

The injury column tells most of the story too. Miami is already without Robby Snelling and Adam Mazur from the rotation and just lost Griffin Conine to a hamstring procedure. Tampa's list is longer on paper, but the names that matter today — the lineup and the bullpen behind Rasmussen — are largely intact. Jake Fraley landing on the IL with a hernia is the one fresh dent.

The market sees it the same way you do. Rays are -155 at Pinnacle, fair-priced for a 59.5% favorite, and the public is piling on — 84% of DK moneyline tickets and 83% of the handle on Tampa Bay. The total is the actual puzzle: Pinnacle has it at 7, DK at 8, and 63% of bets are chasing the over despite both starters being capable of stacking zeros when right.

Game script feels straightforward — Rasmussen keeps the Marlins off the bases, Tampa puts a crooked number on Pérez somewhere in the middle innings, and an 11:15 first pitch becomes a 2:30 PM nap. The bet worth thinking about is the under at the inflated DK number 8, not the side everyone's already piled onto.
