Colorado's pitching staff is held together with tape and good vibes at this point, so manager Warren Schaeffer is rolling with Tanner Gordon for his first start of 2026. Gordon was just recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and last took the ball in bulk relief against Texas, where he coughed up 7 runs on 12 hits over 6.1 innings. That's the resume he's bringing into Chavez Ravine.

Emmet Sheehan gets the home assignment, and he's actually been trending in the right direction. His last time out he went 6 innings of 2-run ball against the Giants on May 14 with 6 strikeouts — his best start of the year — and then followed that up by becoming the first Dodger starter to go on 4 days rest in 2026 when he beat the Padres on May 19. The 4.93 ERA is ugly on the surface, but the recent tape is encouraging.
The Rockies' injury list reads like a roster. Kris Bryant's back still won't let him do baseball things, Chase Dollander is shut down from throwing for 2-to-3 weeks, Brenton Doyle and Jordan Beck are out, and Jose Quintana is headed back to Denver for an MRI on his left elbow. LA isn't exactly whole either — Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are both shelved — but Sheehan starting tonight tells you they don't need them to handle this opponent.

Pinnacle has the Dodgers at -310 on the moneyline with a fair-win probability of nearly 74%, and the run line sits at -1.5 (-146). The total is hanging at 9, which feels low given Coors-adjacent expectations for Gordon's command and an LA lineup that just keeps cooking at home.
Colorado is 3-7 in its last 10 and the worst team in the NL. The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 and have won 2 straight. There is no version of this preview where the Rockies look like the smart side — the only question is whether Gordon can keep it within reach long enough to give Colorado a puncher's chance against a bullpen that's missing a few arms of its own.
