The injury column is where this game gets interesting, and not in a fun way for either side. The Royals are without Cole Ragans, Kris Bubic, and Carlos Estevez — basically half a pitching staff — plus Maikel Garcia is day-to-day with a hamstring and Jonathan India is done for the year. The Twins counter with Pablo Lopez and Bailey Ober on the shelf (Ober just got a fresh 10-14 day flexor shutdown), Ryan Jeffers still rehabbing the hand, and Walker Jenkins nowhere close. Morris is on the mound tonight largely because the rotation has no other answer.

On paper this is a clean edge for Kansas City. Lugo is the more established arm, he's locked in, and Morris is essentially being asked to give the Twins length they probably aren't going to get. The Royals lineup isn't exactly the '27 Yankees, but it doesn't need to be against a guy who hasn't faced a real major-league order in nearly a month.
The over/under question is fascinating with no posted total — Target Field has played fair this year, the wind matters, and both bullpens are taxed. If Lugo gives Kansas City 6 strong, this is a low-scoring grind. If Morris gets chased in the third, it's a Twins bullpen game on a getaway night after a brutal loss. Pick your poison.
