This is the spot where the 76ers either save their season or start booking tee times. New York walked into Philly's series 2-0 after dropping a 39-point hammer in Game 1 and then surviving a 108-102 grinder in Game 2 behind Jalen Brunson's 26. No team has ever climbed out of 0-3. The Sixers know it. The crowd knows it.

The Embiid situation is the entire ballgame. He's listed day-to-day with the ankle and questionable for Game 3 after sitting Game 2, and Philly basically has no path without him on the floor. Even when he played in Game 1, the Knicks torched the Sixers for 160 points per 100 possessions in his minutes by hunting him in pick-and-rolls with Brunson. So Philly needs him healthy AND needs a different scheme. Good luck on a one-day turnaround.

The Knicks have their own scare: OG Anunoby tweaked his hamstring in Game 2. He's been the primary stopper on Paul George and is shooting over 50% from 3 in the playoffs, so if he's limited, that swings real points and real defensive coverage. Brunson already saw longer looks from Kelly Oubre Jr. and VJ Edgecombe in Game 2 and shot 9-for-21. Without OG spacing the floor, that pressure ramps up.

The market is doing something interesting here. Philly is a 1.5-point home favorite despite being down 0-2, riding the desperation premium and the assumption Embiid suits up. The total sits at 213.5, which feels low for a team that needs to push pace and a Knicks group shooting 51% from the field over their last 10. The public is hammering the over (77% of bets, 85% of handle) and there's a slight lean to the Knicks moneyline.

The pick here is patience. Every model and every angle has the Knicks closing this out in 5 or fewer, but Game 3 at home with a desperate star and a hostile crowd is the classic trap spot for a road favorite. If Embiid's actually moving, Philly steals one. If he's a decoy, this gets ugly fast and the sweep talk starts in the second quarter.
