TLDR: The Bengals and Ravens play an AFC North game in Baltimore on Sunday, October 25, and nobody can yet say who starts at quarterback for the home team. Lamar Jackson's ankle has already cost him 2 games, and the Ravens' offense looked very different without him in Cleveland.

Cincinnati visits Baltimore on Sunday, October 25, with Joe Burrow coming off a 4-touchdown game at Miami and the Ravens unsure whether Lamar Jackson's sprained ankle will cost him a 3rd straight game. Tyler Huntley won in Atlanta and then managed just 10 points in a loss at Cleveland behind an interior line missing Cam Jurgens and Andrew Vorhees. The Ravens are favored by a bit more than a field goal, and Jackson's practice status this week is the biggest unknown.

Cincinnati Bengals
  • Burrow threw 4 TDs, no picks at Miami
  • Chase still the focal point: 77 yards, a score at Miami
  • Baltimore's offense managed 10 points without Jackson
  • Hudson's torn pec thins the tight end room
  • Bozeman on IR; Young and Dugger questionable
  • Lost 2 of last 4, both one-score losses
Baltimore Ravens
  • Defense held Cleveland to 13
  • Henry ran for 102 yards and caught a TD at Atlanta
  • Huntley has won with this roster, OT in Atlanta
  • Jackson has missed 2 straight with ankle sprain
  • Jurgens and Vorhees out, interior line patched together
  • Bateman out; Sarratt inactive at Cleveland

Start with the quarterbacks, because that is the whole game. Joe Burrow is coming off his sharpest afternoon of the year: 23 of 32 for 190 yards, 4 touchdowns and no picks in the 31-24 win at Miami. Across the field, Baltimore head coach Jesse Minter has ruled Jackson out 2 weeks running with the left ankle sprain from the 24-18 win over Tennessee, and Jackson hadn't practiced in that stretch. Tyler Huntley got the call both times. He threw for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns and scored the overtime winner on a 1-yard sneak in Atlanta. Then the Ravens managed 10 points in a 13-10 loss at Cleveland.

The Cleveland game also showed how thin the Ravens are on offense right now. Center Cam Jurgens and guard Andrew Vorhees were both inactive, so the interior of the line was patched together. Rashod Bateman (shoulder) sat, and so did Elijah Sarratt, a coach's decision. Zay Flowers was cleared through his toe injury, and Derrick Henry, who ran for 102 yards and caught a touchdown against Atlanta, is still there. But without Jackson, a lot of what makes Henry so hard to defend goes away. Baltimore opens as the home favorite by a bit more than a field goal, which looks like a number that expects at least some version of Jackson to play.

Cincinnati has its own problems. Tight end Tanner Hudson tore his pectoral covering a kick in the Miami game and is expected to miss the rest of the season. He had caught a 2-yard touchdown before he got hurt. That leaves Mike Gesicki, who also scored against the Dolphins, and Jack Endries at the position. Linebacker Swayze Bozeman is on injured reserve with a fractured forearm, and receiver Colbie Young and safety Kyle Dugger are both questionable. The offense around Burrow is in good shape: Ja'Marr Chase had 6 catches for 77 yards and a score at Miami, and Samaje Perine added 68 rushing yards.

Both teams are 3-2 over their last 5, and both have struggled to put teams away. The Bengals' 2 losses came by 3 at Pittsburgh and by 5 at home to Jacksonville, and they beat Tampa Bay in a 33-27 shootout. Baltimore has played 3 straight one-score games: the 34-31 win in Dallas, the overtime win in Atlanta and the 3-point loss in Cleveland. Expect another close one.

The defensive matchup to watch is Burrow against a Ravens pass rush with Trey Hendrickson, who was a full practice participant through his finger injury. Baltimore just held Cleveland to 13 points, so that defense can win games by itself when the offense stalls. The question is whether it can do that against Burrow and Chase rather than the Browns.

Kickoff is 1:00 PM ET, and the forecast in Baltimore is about as good as late October gets: low 60s, mostly sunny and a light breeze. Weather won't be an excuse for either offense. This week's news is about Jackson's ankle. If he practices, it's a different game. If he doesn't, Huntley needs a better day than he had in Cleveland.
