Las Vegas has a full week and a real reason to be angry. The early win over the Chargers and the 35-point day in New Orleans came from an offense that could finish drives. In Foxborough the defense gave up 165 rushing yards and the line couldn't keep Cousins clean. One thing still worked: Brock Bowers caught 8 of 10 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown even in a blowout, and he's the matchup Buffalo's banged-up secondary has to plan around.
Buffalo is winning games, but it isn't stopping anybody. The Bills gave up 31 to Houston, 31 to Detroit, 29 in the loss to New England and 34 to the Rams. Their one tidy game was 24-16 over the Chargers. That defense was missing Oliver, Jackson and Alford on Monday, which leaves a thin front facing an Ashton Jeanty who only got 27 yards on 10 carries against the Patriots and should be due a bigger role. Kubiak needs to get back to the balance that produced the 3-0 start, because trading touchdowns with Allen isn't a plan he'll win often.
The Raiders have their own problems up front. Center Trey Zuhn III is out, and defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway is in the concussion protocol going into the week. There is some good news: Kubiak said receiver Jalen Nailor is expected to practice after his concussion, which would give Cousins another target next to Tre Tucker with Dont'e Thornton Jr. on IR. Keon Coleman just put up 116 yards and a touchdown against New England, and Khalil Shakir remains Allen's safety valve, so Buffalo still has enough to throw it around. Brown's back is the injury to watch all week. It decides whether Allen has time to wait for those routes or has to start running for his life in the second half.
