McCarthy returns to practice after Ravens loss
J.J. McCarthy was back at practice Monday after taking a beating in Saturday's 13-3 preseason loss to the Ravens, a game that told more about individual snaps than the season ahead.
Vikings fall to Ravens in second preseason game
The Vikings lost 13-3 to the Ravens at home on August 22, dropping to 1-1 in the preseason so far after opening with a 13-10 road win over the Giants on August 15. Neither result touches the regular-season record, which sits at 0-0 with nothing yet decided, but the game gave a long look at who can move the ball behind the starters.
Ravens3-13
Giants13-10Max Brosmer completed 11 of 17 passes for 98 yards and an interception, adding a four-yard carry, while Carson Wentz went 9 of 11 for 92 yards in relief. Demond Claiborne turned eight carries into 18 yards, caught his lone target for seven yards and returned a kickoff 21 yards. Will Reichard was perfect again, going 3-for-3 on field goals through two preseason games with a long of 54 yards.
None of it is a verdict on the fall — preseason snaps are about who looked ready, not who wins games in September.
