The Sharks' camp roster was always going to be tested here — Cam Lund, Quentin Musty and Kyle Keyser were all already ruled out before puck drop, and San Jose leaned on split goaltending duty between Eric Comrie and Matthew Davis while absorbing three penalties along the way. Anaheim, missing its own group of regulars, still iced enough NHL-level bodies to make the difference show.
Jimmy Huntington pulled San Jose within one in the second period, but that's as close as it got. Beckett Sennecke took over from there, scoring twice in the second and adding a third in the third period for the hat trick that put the game away.
