Telluride Bush Is Down To 2 Players And Streaming The MW4 Beta 12 Hours At A Time

Barstool's Call of Duty team finished its first Challengers season with $132,000 in prize money across 17 events, 8 of them won outright — 5 Challengers Cups, 2 Elite Playoffs, and Major 3 in Atlanta, which is the one that counts. The last event was the Esports World Cup Last Chance Qualifier in Paris over the first weekend of August: Bush went through Team Ultraa MVP, OMNiA Invicta and Arrow Tech Edge, lost the Winners Final 0-3 to Torn Esports, and lost the Losers Final 1-3 to The Pit EU. Third, one series short of the Grand Final and the EWC slot, and $9,000.

The roster is half built

This is the actual story, and it is the reason the page you are reading exists. Bush is carrying 2 signed players: Byron "Prolute" Vera, and Kristopher "Spart" Cervantez, who left for Boston Breach in February and came back. Cammy, Capsidal and Traixx are all off the roster. That leaves 2 open seats on a 4-man team with a new game about to launch, which is the most consequential unanswered question about this org right now — bigger than any single result last season was.

The staff side is settled: Donovan "Temp" Laroda coaches, Jace Humberson is GM. Jersey Jerry, Lil Sas and Mook are still listed as owners of 0% each.

With no matches to play, the org has spent the last week inside MW4's early access beta, and the output has been volume rather than highlights. The late-night beta stream on August 21 went past hour 12 with Jerry, Mook, Blutman, Byron, Lu and Parasite rotating through it. Jerry gave beta codes away live on August 22. Byron spent a night in lobbies with Dashy, Scrap and FormaL, which is roughly the top of the professional player pool, and the clip the org chose to post out of it was Mook getting a single kill on Dashy — the honest framing, and funnier than a highlight would have been.
