Anthony Rizzo names Dante the Don his lowkey legend

TLDR: Anthony Rizzo used a Payday Lowkey Legends sit-down to shout out Dante the Don, the old Cubs team DJ who ran the Wrigley Field sound booth during Rizzo's Chicago years.
Payday's Lowkey Legends campaign asks players to credit the people who keep a ballpark running. Rizzo picked the guy who controlled the music.

It's an easy pick to understand. Dante Deiana has been the Cubs' sound and music engineer since 2015, so he was running the Wrigley booth through the best stretch of Rizzo's Cubs career, 2016 title run included. The two go back further than walk-up songs, too. Dante sits on the board of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. Dante answered the shoutout with 2 emojis, a prayer-hands and a heart, which says plenty.
The Lowkey Legends spot has been everywhere on Barstool this week. The Payday read ran during the Wild Card sweat in the Gambling Cave, and Barstool Chicago ran it on Free Swim. Right before the read on Free Swim, Eddie made a case for his own legend: a guy who changes the scoreboard faster than you can blink.
“Oh, he's unbelievable... I trust him more than ABS.” – Eddie
Dante's reach goes well past Wrigley. He created and headlined the Barstool Sports Blackout Tour, more than 160 shows and over 150,000 people. On Barstool Chicago, his name works like a VIP wristband. During a draft of things not worth overpaying for, one of the guys admitted the only times he's been inside a nightclub lately were on Dante's connections.
“The only times I've gone in the last 10 years, I've been a beneficiary of DJ Dante the Don.”
That's what makes a lowkey legend. Fans never see the guy in the booth, but the players remember him, and so does everybody who ever got into a club on his name. Rizzo had a whole ballpark of people to choose from and went with the DJ. Payday says it's still looking for 3 legends to honor, so keep an eye out for more shoutouts as the playoffs roll on.
