Barstool CFB Show hits UConn vs. UMass Friday, Oct. 23

TLDR: The Barstool College Football Show will go live from the Rentschler Field parking lot before UConn hosts UMass on Friday, Oct. 23, with a Thursday night fan event in Manchester first.
Dave Portnoy made it official Tuesday. In his post, the game gets Barstool's own name, and he has one request for Connecticut.

The Barstool football show is coming to Hartford for the Cum Bowl on Friday. Any must hit pizza spots I need to try around Hartford?
So the show is coming to Hartford, and Dave wants pizza. That's a dangerous question to ask in Connecticut, the state that thinks it owns the slice. Expect a few hundred furious replies and at least 1 One Bite review out of the trip. The football part is real too. UMass visits UConn at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, and the game is on CBS Sports Network. According to the local CT sports writer Mike Mutnansky, the show itself starts at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot between Gates C and D.
This isn't a pity booking. UMass comes in at 4-3 and UConn is 3-3, so it's 2 New England programs that can't stand each other, both hanging around.500, playing on a Friday night with a national show in the lot. Mutnansky is already telling UConn fans to show up in big numbers so the Minutemen crowd doesn't take over the Huskies' own tailgate. That's the whole appeal of the Barstool show: it goes where the rivalry is loud, not just where the ranking is high.
It also goes where it's actually wanted, which has been a sore spot this season. On Wake Up Barstool on Oct. 5, Portnoy went on a long rant about Ohio State fighting the show from the start.
“From day one, they said, we don't want the Barstool College Football Show on campus.” – Dave Portnoy
After a fight like that, a parking lot in East Hartford full of people begging to be on camera sounds pretty good. The build-up also starts a night early. Barstool is running a Thursday Night Live at Elicit Brewing Co. in Manchester, CT, a few minutes from the stadium. Show up in your best gameday fit and you could win a backstage spot for Friday's show.

THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE IN MANCHESTER This Thursday night join us at Elicit Brewing Co. in your best Gameday Fit for a chance to be BACKSTAGE at the Barstool College Football Show on Friday. @nooners
What to watch: how Connecticut answers the pizza question, which fan base actually fills the lot by 5:30, and whether UConn handles a rival that has been feisty all year. ESPN's numbers like the Huskies at home, but rivalry games on a Friday night don't care much about numbers. Either way, Barstool gets its show, and somebody in Hartford gets a pizza review they will be arguing about until next season.
