Brandon Walker and Mississippi State get rolled by Alabama

TLDR: No. 7 Alabama blew out previously unbeaten No. 16 Mississippi State 56-23 in Starkville, and Brandon Walker's day went from hero's welcome to Big Cat publicly disowning a preseason quote.

Saturday started as the best day Brandon Walker has had as a Mississippi State fan in years. More than an hour before kickoff, Davis Wade Stadium was already treating BWalk like he was on the roster.

It’s BWalk’s world…

You can see why he was fired up. State came in unbeaten and ranked, with Alabama in town for what Walker had been calling the biggest home stretch in a long time. That's a big deal for a guy who grew up a Bulldog in West Point and spent the week on Barstool shows telling everyone that nobody on Earth jumps on the Mississippi State bandwagon. Dave even popped in to ask which State game Walker would be attending this year, as if the answer wasn't sitting on the sideline in a No. 1 jersey.

Then the game started, and the vibes moved to a living room. Hannah Montoya ran a live thread on Cait Walker, who tried every good-luck ritual you can think of. Cait wouldn't get off the floor. Hannah got moved out of a sweater and into a jersey from Cait's closet. They did a pickle shot and Alabama scored right away. By halftime Cait was watching from behind the couch with a State gameday playlist on shuffle. None of it worked, and Cait figured out exactly who to blame.

“Brandon has GOT to stop going to fucking games.” - @cait_walkerr after doing everything imaginable to ensure good luck for state

Cait had a point. Keelon Russell threw for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for another, and Dijon Lee Jr. added a 30-yard pick-six. The game was decided long before the final 56-23, and the over on 61.5 was already cashed in the 3rd quarter.

The man himself got to the jokes before anyone else could. That's the only move when your team just took 56 at home from the school you can't stand most.

Anybody know how to remove an elephant’s trunk from your a….never mind I’ll google it.

It got worse. Once the game was over, Alabama fans went looking for receipts and dug up something Walker said in the preseason preview. Big Cat wasted no time making it clear that Pardon My Take wants no part of it.

Alabama fans have found Brandon’s quote from the season preview. That was a Brandon Walker quote. Not a Pardon My Take sanctioned quote

So State is no longer unbeaten, the bandwagon Walker insisted didn't exist is empty again, and the schedule doesn't let up after Alabama. Walker had already called it the worst in the country, with Texas, LSU and Ole Miss still to come. Monday's Wake Up Barstool and Yak are going to be rough, and Cait may want Brandon to watch the next one from home.
