CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Guyton hurt as Cowboys fall to Bucs

TLDR: CeeDee Lamb hurt his quad and left tackle Tyler Guyton hurt his back, so both watched Dallas's last drive from the sideline in a 24-16 loss to a Buccaneers team that came in 0-4.

Lamb's night was already rough before the injury. Then the team announced the quad, and the beat writers in the building filled in what the broadcast didn't show.

CeeDee Lamb has a quad injury and it's been announced his return is questionable. Lamb got limited snaps on that last drive. He was on the field for the two-point conversion attempt.

So he tried to play through it. Lamb went back out, took 1 snap, hobbled off again and then came back for the 2-point try on that drive, according to Yahoo Sports. He finished with 2 catches for 9 yards. For the guy this offense runs through, that's a nightmare stat line before you even get to the injury.

George Pickens' touchdown made it a 1-score game. Then the second problem hit. Guyton walked to the locker room with a back injury, Broderick Jones came in at left tackle, and Dallas started its last real comeback attempt without its best receiver or its starting blindside protector.

It ended the way you'd guess. Dak Prescott threw for Jake Ferguson, the ball got tipped and Alex Anzalone picked it off with under 2 minutes left. That was the game. Dallas turned it over 3 times and dropped to 2-3, and an undrafted rookie quarterback walked out of the building with Tampa's first win of the year.

Now the schedule gets meaner. The Cowboys get Green Bay on Sunday night and Philadelphia on Monday night in back-to-back prime-time games. If Lamb's quad needs time, they're facing 2 of the NFC's best on national TV with a passing game missing its centerpiece. If Guyton's back is a problem, Jones keeps Prescott's blind side.

Watch the injury report next week. A quad strain can be a 1-week thing or a lingering problem, and nobody has a postgame diagnosis yet. Lamb trying to go back in is a good sign. Him limping off after 1 snap is not. At 2-3 with that stretch coming, Dallas really can't afford to lose him for long.
