Elio, Murley Kick Off Chasing Goals Tour In Boston

The tour started with a train ride. Elio posted the trip up the coast a few hours before puck drop, and the caption told you how seriously he was taking it.

Train to Boston!! All Business!!

They picked a big night for Stop 1. Rangers at Bruins on Sept 29 at TD Garden was the season opener for both teams, 8PM ET on ESPN, so the tour opened on a real game night in Boston. The Rangers and Bruins have opened a season against each other 10 times now, and this was the first since 2012-13. Murls, a former NHLer, and Elio got to open their road show at one of the loudest nights on the Boston calendar.

The shirts have the whole plan printed on them. The front has a puck smashing into a net under a DraftKings logo. The back is the tour schedule, like a band shirt, with a list of cities you'll want to check against your own team's schedule.

Here's the route on the back of the shirt: NYR at BOS in Boston, then TBL at NYR, VGK at PIT, BOS at FLA, STL at CAR, LAK at STL and SJS at VGK, and the whole thing wraps at Ice Con on Long Island. Only the Boston date is printed where we can read it, so don't circle any other dates yet. It's still a decent run through the league, with Pittsburgh, Raleigh, St. Louis, Sunrise and Vegas all on the list, plus the Garden once the tour gets back to New York.

By the evening the 2 of them were standing on a Boston sidewalk in matching tour shirts doing the DraftKings bit. It's a #DKPartner spot and they don't pretend it's anything else. That's fine, because a sponsored hockey road trip with these 2 is a pretty good use of an ad budget.

Elio had one more post before the puck dropped, and it points at where the tour ends. Ending at Ice Con fits a guy who goes by Elio the Iceman, and he sounded more excited about that crowd than about anything else on the list.

Next up on the shirt is Tampa at the Rangers. Boston was Episode 1. The format is 2 guys, a DraftKings logo and a building full of hockey, and it's built to keep going all season. If the first night is any sign, Elio's energy should outlast whatever the Bruins and Rangers do before the tour gets back to Long Island.
