Jace Humberson, tBush Update spar over Challengers rosters

TLDR: Jace Humberson said no Challengers team had a full roster signed, then walked it back to 1 team, and tBush Update says the P7 players behind that team were CDL bound days ago.
The original claim didn't hold up for long. Once P7 got thrown back at him, Humberson made a concession and added a caveat in the same reply.
@tBushUpdate bit of a different situation since those players have been signed to P7 all offseason, but my fault 1 team does.
That's a fair "my fault," but the caveat is where the fight is. Humberson's point is that P7 doesn't really count against his take, because those guys have been under contract the whole time. So it isn't a team that found a full roster this offseason. It's a team that just never lost one. Humberson is listed as general manager of Telluride Bush Gaming, Barstool's own Challengers team, so this isn't a random guy tweeting about the scene. He's someone building a roster in the same market he's describing.
tBush Update didn't buy the "signed all offseason" framing at all, and went through the P7 roster player by player.
@JaceHumberson come on man have they really been “signed” all offseason outside of maybe Boom? - Afro came back from Boston/M80 - Beans came back from G2 - Mythix was a top free agent All 3 were literally thought to be CDL bound a few days ago. They went through the Visa process with P7
Here's what the rebuttal boils down to. Boom might have been on P7 the whole way, sure. Afro is back from Boston/M80. Beans is back from G2. Mythix was one of the top free agents on the market. By tBush Update's telling, all 3 were thought to be headed to the CDL a few days ago, and they went through the visa process with P7. Mythix has P7 history: the Call of Duty Esports Wiki lists him on Project 7's roster at the Challengers Paris Open earlier in 2026. Still, being on a team's roster for a past event and being signed through a summer where everybody assumed you were going pro are 2 very different things. That gap is what this whole argument is about.
It matters more than one Twitter spat usually does. Challengers is the tier under the Call of Duty League, and every offseason its rosters depend on whoever doesn't land a CDL spot. If players can come back from CDL-adjacent stints and slide straight into a Challengers lineup that was supposedly locked all along, then "signed" means something pretty flexible. A GM saying nobody has a full roster yet is also telling you how far behind (or ahead) everyone else is.
When fans in the replies piled on, tBush Update didn't back down. Its read is that Humberson moved the goalposts.
What to watch next: whether P7 or the players themselves say anything about when those deals actually got done, and whether any other Challengers team gets to 4 signed before the season starts. If P7 really was the only team with a full roster on October 5, everyone else is still chasing the same leftover free agents. The CDL teams that passed on Afro, Beans and Mythix just made that pool smaller.
