That gig did not go well — Las Vegas was tied for last in the league at 15 points per game, and Kelly got fired in late November after the Raiders fell to 2-9 following a loss to the Browns.

For a guy with 35 years of coaching experience at every level, taking an OC job at a program like Northwestern is a real show of faith that there's still something to build there.
It's also a fascinating bet for Northwestern.
