Connor Griffin lands Ryen Russillo on Mostly Sports

TLDR: Connor Griffin finally got Ryen Russillo onto Mostly Sports on Tuesday, October 6, and fans who had watched the show's couch guy chase his dream guest treated it like a white whale landed.
This one had been coming for a while. Connor had openly campaigned for Russillo, so when the episode went live, the clip accounts were celebrating within minutes.
Some background on why this mattered to Connor. Mostly Sports is Mark Titus and Brandon Walker's show, with Connor Griffin and Ebo filling out the room, and Connor's Barstool bio literally calls him the couch boy. Getting Russillo on wasn't a booking that just showed up on a calendar. Connor went after it, and Barstool even turned his effort to get Russillo on the show into a VIVA TV episode. A Penn State guy on the couch landing one of the biggest names in sports audio is about as good a day as that job gets.
Russillo is also one of Barstool's bigger signings. He spent years as a host on ESPN Radio, left for The Ringer in 2019, and then left there for a partnership with Dave Portnoy. Portnoy put money into Russillo's new production company, and The Ryen Russillo Show launched on November 3, 2025. Producers Steve Ceruti and Kyle Crichton came over with him. So yes, he's technically a coworker now. Getting him into the Mostly Sports studio still apparently took real persistence.
From the clips that came out, the chemistry was there right away. The Step Brothers line fits: lots of laughing on the couch and no awkward warm-up. There was also at least one question that got a full face-palm at the desk. The footage doesn't say what was asked, but it clearly landed.
Of course, Connor doesn't get to enjoy a win around here without catching some grief. Not long after the episode posted, another clip had the replies roasting him for how he acted during the segment. It's normal office trash talk, and honestly it's what happens when the guy who wanted the booking most gets a little too excited on camera.
What a PUSSY Connor Griffin is!!
The visit didn't stay inside the Mostly Sports studio, either. Out in the office, Mintzy reportedly pitched himself to Ryen as a guest for the next Life Advice episode. Life Advice is the signature segment Russillo brought with him from The Ringer. Picturing Mintzy as the one giving advice is the whole joke, and nobody has announced anything.
What comes next is the obvious question. Connor got his white whale, and Mostly Sports got a guest who seemed to actually enjoy being there. If Russillo keeps showing up at the office and around the other shows, this probably won't be his last couch appearance. Connor should just enjoy it before the next roast clip comes out.
