Drop A Pin Geography Grand Prix Episode 2 Out Sept. 30

TLDR: Uncle Chaps and The Wonton Don dropped the second monthly Drop A Pin Geography Grand Prix on September 30, and it opens with a simple ask: name a city in Africa.
Chaps had it posted within minutes of the drop, with the cold open front and center.
Out here now!
For anyone new to it, Drop A Pin is the weekly travel show Chaps does with Donnie, Barstool's self-styled foreign correspondent. Each week they drop a pin somewhere on the globe and go deep on the place. The Grand Prix is the monthly spin-off. Instead of the hosts showing off what they know, contestants get put on the spot with a whiteboard and a marker. Donnie posted the same opener on his own account calling it 'The Second Monthly Geo Grand Prix,' so the monthly format looks like it's here to stay.
Question 1 is about as easy as geography quizzes get. It still went sideways fast.
Can you name a city in Africa? 'Drop a Pin' Geography Grand Prix Ep. 2
Someone wrote 'AKON CITY,' and the ruling was 'it might count.' That's generous. Akon City was the singer's roughly $6 billion plan for a futuristic smart city in Senegal. He had said the first phase would open in 2026. Instead, Senegal's tourism development agency has officially scrapped it after missed payment deadlines, and the site is mostly bare land with an unfinished reception building. So technically it's a city in Africa that doesn't exist. If it counts, the judging is going to be the story of this series. The contestant who wrote Marrakesh and drew hearts around it played it straight, and somehow that's less fun.
The episode comes during a good stretch for the show. On Wake Up Barstool on September 28, 2 days before the drop, T-Bob used his positive segment to shout out Chaps and the channel.
“Uncle Chaps. He's been here forever. He just hit 300k on his YouTube channel. Drop a pin, shout out to that.” – T-Bob
T-Bob said 300k on the YouTube channel, and the Grand Prix is the kind of format that keeps a channel growing: a short premise, one ridiculous answer per question, and a judge who can be talked into anything. Every new episode should give people another clip to argue over in the comments.
If the schedule holds, episode 3 comes next month. After 'Akon City might count,' the bar for wrong-but-defensible answers just got lower. Somebody is going to try Wakanda.
