Team Green has been the villain house of Westeros since episode 1 of this whole saga, but three episodes into Season 3, Barstool's recap squad is noticing something weird happening on screen: the Greens are actually watchable now. That's not nothing for a faction that's mostly been defined by cowardice, incest cover-ups and losing dragons to the other side.
Robbie Fox announced the crew's latest recap session, breaking down the newest episode with the rest of the panel.

That recap dropped early Monday morning, with Robbie Fox running the show alongside TheClemReport, BrendanClancy and nickhammy5 in what he called 'a very fun show tonight.' HBO's been dropping Season 3 episodes weekly on Sunday nights, and this crew has made a habit of turning around a full breakdown practically overnight.
The headline take belongs to TheClemReport, who admitted something he clearly didn't want to admit: Team Green has gotten a real jolt of energy this season, and he's crediting two newer characters for it. It's a notable turn for a fanbase that's spent 2 seasons rooting against Aegon II's side almost by default.
TheClemReport laid out the reluctant admission that Team Green has found its footing this season.

And then there's Criston Cole, the Lord Commander-turned-Hand of the King who's been in the mix since Season 1 and has historically been more punching bag than fan favorite. Fabien Frankel's version of the character has been pushed into a much bigger role this year, effectively running the Greens' war effort as they push toward Harrenhal β and according to the recap crew's follow-up, people are starting to come around on him, even if grudgingly.

This is a fair point. Criston Cole would be an all-time addition by subtraction for Team Green's stock
Calling a guy 'an all-time addition by subtraction' is about as Barstool as praise gets β it means the character is doing something right even if the fanbase still wants him gone. That's the whole arc of this show in one tweet: nobody roots for the Greens, but a couple of new pieces are making it a lot harder to look away.
Season 3 still has episodes left to run before the August finale, and if the recap crew's read is right, Team Green's stock keeps climbing from here. Whether that holds once the war actually kicks into gear at Harrenhal is the next thing worth watching.
