Jonathan Greenard inactive for Eagles vs. Jaguars in London

TLDR: Jonathan Greenard tested his ankle in front of Howie Roseman before kickoff in London and failed, so he misses his 3rd game out of 5 in his first Eagles season.
Greenard went into Sunday questionable, so the Eagles let him prove it on the field before the game with the GM standing right there.

Having Howie Roseman and head trainer Tom Hunkele watching you run tells you how close this was. Greenard didn't practice all week after leaving the Rams game in the 3rd quarter with the ankle. Ian Rapoport called it day-to-day and said it wasn't serious. Philly still wanted to see him move before deciding. About 15 minutes later, they had their answer.
That's the frustrating part. Greenard came in as one of the big edge-rusher adds, and his season has been one thing after another: a pec injury at the start of the year, then the ankle against the Rams. When he has played, he's put up a QB hit and a forced fumble. Now he's out for more than half of the first 5 games, and the pass rush has to go without him again.
#Eagles inactives for Jags game: WR Hollywood Brown (ankle) WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring) S Marcus Epps (groin) OLB Jonathan Greenard (ankle) C Drew Kendall (knee)
And Greenard is only 1 name on the list. The other 5 were ruled out before the team left for London. Saquon Barkley's hamstring keeps him out after he left early in the 1st quarter last week, and DeVonta Smith misses a 2nd straight game with his own hamstring injury. Hollywood Brown's ankle, Marcus Epps' groin and Drew Kendall's knee round it out. So Jalen Hurts is playing in London without his top back and 2 of his receivers.
Jake Majors is slated to make his first career NFL start at center for the #Eagles. t.co/j4WnJWjOQS
Losing Kendall shakes up the middle of the line too. He couldn't practice all week, and Jake Majors was snapping by Wednesday. That's a lot to ask of a guy making his first career NFL start, especially in an international game, and it comes after Cam Jurgens was traded to Baltimore. If the interior protection holds up, the Eagles can survive this injury list. If it doesn't, it's going to be a long morning.
Next up is the Greenard ankle. Day-to-day turned into a game-time scratch, so watch whether he practices this week. Philly needs him on the edge for more than 2 games out of 5 if this defense is going to look like Roseman planned.
