Jordan Dwyer Set To Make TCU 2026 Debut Sept. 26 Vs. UCF

Jordan Dwyer hasn't played a snap for TCU this fall. He was banged up ahead of last year's Alamo Bowl, sat that one out, missed the season opener against North Carolina in Ireland, and then missed the Grambling game too. For a Horned Frogs offense trying to find its footing, that's a lot of games without its best receiver.

Now there's real momentum toward getting him back. Pete Nakos reported that Dykes gave a positive update on Dwyer's status, with the receiver expected to make his 2026 debut this week against UCF. Dwyer was coming off a 2025 season where he caught 54 passes for 730 yards and 7 touchdowns, easily TCU's top returning target.

The timing matters. TCU dropped its opener to North Carolina 15-10 and has been searching for answers on offense without its top pass-catcher. UCF handed the Horned Frogs a heartbreaker the last time these two teams met, a 35-34 decision in 2024, and this year's matchup doubles as TCU's Big 12 opener on the road in Orlando.

That's about as high-leverage a spot as it gets for a receiver returning from injury -- a conference opener against a team that's already burned you once. If Dwyer's foot is really good to go, TCU gets its most proven weapon back right as league play starts, which is exactly when they need him most.

Nothing is locked in until he actually suits up Saturday, but a positive word straight from Dykes carries weight. Horned Frogs fans have been waiting all season for this, and if the good news holds, Dwyer's debut becomes the storyline heading into Orlando.
