Mr. Bing Bong Takes the Party to Chicago

New York did its thing Wednesday. The Canyon of Heroes, fans climbing traffic poles and building ledges, Tyler Kolek double-fisting shots on a float — the whole spectacle. The Knicks brought a championship parade down Broadway for the first time in over half a century and the city did not disappoint. But the real bit unfolded a thousand miles away, in Chicago, where PMT's Jerry just so happened to have a Stand By Me live show booked the morning after the Knicks punched their ticket.

If you know Jerry, you know Mr. Bing Bong. The glasses, the Knicks polo, the energy of a man who has been waiting decades for exactly this moment — it's one of the better recurring characters in the Barstool universe. And because the Knicks finally delivered, Mr. Bing Bong apparently had unfinished business in Chicago beyond just the show. That business: wishing Hank a happy birthday. Twisted Tea in tow, Mr. Bing Bong pulled up in full Knicks-fan regalia to make sure Hank's birthday got the championship treatment it deserved.

While all of this was unfolding, Clem was firing off demands with the urgency of a man who has waited his entire adult life for this and does not intend to let the moment slip away quietly. First, a trophy for Jalen Brunson specifically. Then, a request for the Knicks franchise to release a championship DVD — and to sell DVD players to anyone who got rid of theirs or never owned one in the first place. Both tweets are unhinged and both are correct.

The DVD bit is funnier than it has any right to be because it's the most Knicks-fan thing imaginable — win a championship and immediately want to own the physical media so you can watch it forever on a format the rest of the world abandoned a decade ago. That's the energy. The parade happened, Mr. Bing Bong crashed a birthday in Chicago, and Clem is already lobbying for a disc you'll need to buy special hardware to play. Knicks fans, man. They earned every second of it.
