Klemmer's Odyssey Prank Spirals Into a Viva Points War

Chris Klemmer's fake-ticket prank on Nate has turned into a full office feud over whether Robbie Fox lied about that night.

It started simple enough: Nate went to see The Odyssey, got stuck without a companion ticket, and spent half the movie fuming that some stranger made him fetch water. He ranted about it online, dragged Bob Goochman's name through the mud, and fully believed a rando had scammed him out of a seat. Turns out the rando was a plant, the whole thing was scripted, and the guy pulling strings the entire time was Chris Klemmer.

Tommy Smokes called it early, saying one of the best pranks in Barstool history had just been pulled off on Nate, with an intern turning in what he described as the acting job of the year. That intern, reportedly named Bugg, is now getting floated for a full-time job off the strength of the performance alone. Nate himself eventually put it together in real time, tweeting that when the guy stood up mid-movie it hit him like a ton of bricks, and admitting the whole ordeal was diabolical.

That should have been the end of it. Instead, Nate showed up to the office the next day and the story mutated into something bigger: a fight with Robbie Fox over what actually happened the day Nate bought his Odyssey tickets in the first place.

The new wrinkle is about credibility, not comedy. Nate is now claiming Robbie Fox is straight up lying about the circumstances of that ticket purchase, and he's not shy about wanting the internet to hold Fox accountable for it via Viva Points, the fan site's informal scoring system for who's winning a given beef.

Fox isn't rolling over, either. He went digging for receipts, literally, pulling up the actual text messages between him and Nate from the day the tickets were bought to back up his version of events. Whether that settles anything is another question, but it did give the fanbase something to chew on beyond the original prank.

Meanwhile the crowd has already started keeping score. Stoolies Clubhouse dropped a #NateLied hashtag along with 10 Viva Points for Fox, and the informal panel of judges chimed in too, with one account scoring it 10 for Fox and 8 for Nate. KFC summed up the whole saga as a flawlessly executed prank, crediting the perfect storm of Klemmer's plotting and Bugg's breakout performance. And with Klemmer himself now on record trying to clear the air about what actually went down the day Nate got those tickets, this thing is nowhere close to over.

Klemmer sits down to finally explain his side of the ticket-day story.
