Rone joins Out and About October 22 after copycat jab

It started as a hallway comment. Kelly Keegs passed it along word for word, then plugged the episode in the same tweet.

Pat just came up to me and said "So I guess @rone is just doing our show out in Chicago and calling it @ronedotcom ? Will discuss @OutandAboutpod (out tomorrow, featuring @rone and @Return_Of_RB )
That's how a grievance turns into content at Barstool. Pat McAuliffe and Keegs host Out and About, the company's pop culture and Barstool drama show. Rone, real name Adam Ferrone, is the battle rapper and Surviving Barstool winner who runs RoneDotCom out of the Chicago office. Pat's case is basically "he's doing our thing out west and slapping his own name on it." So rather than letting it simmer, they put the accused on the mic to answer for it. Rone has been on Out and About before, so this is a return visit with a fresh charge attached.
The Chicago side wanted some editorial say before anything went out. Zah, a regular in Rone's orbit, asked to see the cut first. Pat's answer was short.
Nobody gets final approval, and that's how it should be. If you're walking into a show that just called you a knockoff, you don't get to sign off on the edit. The fun part is that nobody on either side really seems mad. It's a bit, everyone knows it's a bit, and everyone is playing it straight anyway because that's what makes it work.
Big Cat also landed a line on the Yak the same day that fits right in. Pointing at Barstool's own hiring, he said the company isn't really in a position to complain about anyone copying anyone.

“We can’t complain about other people… we hired Bussin with the Boys” -Big Cat
It's a fair point. A company that built its podcast roster partly by bringing in established shows can't get too precious about who's riffing on whose format. The joke still lands, though, because Pat's complaint was never about ownership. He just wants to win the internal bragging rights.
There's one wrinkle in the booking. Somewhere in the back-and-forth, Terry Dubrow got pulled into it, and Pat found that very funny. The tweets don't say how he's involved, so that might be the best reason to watch.
So that's the setup for October 22: Pat and Keegs on one side, Rone and @Return_Of_RB on the other, and the RoneDotCom question finally out in the open. The most likely outcome is a lot of mutual ribbing and no real verdict. Still, Rone is a battle rapper who has made a career out of answering accusations to someone's face, and Pat brought this one to him. We'll see if Out and About can handle its guest coming back at them.
