Puka Nacua is coming off the best season of his career. He led the NFL with 129 catches in 2025, racked up 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns, and passed franchise legends Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce on the Rams' single-season lists. That version of Nacua is exactly why Los Angeles can't afford any hiccups heading into 2026. Instead, camp has delivered two of them at once.
The bigger issue arrived first. Adam Schefter reported that the NFL is reviewing allegations from Nacua's offseason, including a claim that he bit a woman, and that a suspension for Week 1 against the 49ers is reportedly in play.
A notable injury issue in LA:
Now there's a second problem layered on top. Nacua left the Rams' joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday with a trainer and could not finish the session, a detail first relayed by SleeperNFL citing reporting from Nate Atkins.

Sean McVay didn't have any updates for reporters after practice wrapped, so the nature and severity of whatever sidelined Nacua is still unknown. Given the timing, every camp injury for a receiver already facing possible discipline is going to get magnified — and this one landed right in that window.
It's not just Nacua banged up in L.A. right now. SleeperNFL also noted Christian McCaffrey has been sitting out with tightness, which means the Rams could be piecing together their skill-position group without two of its most important names as the preseason grinds on.
Puka Nacua left practice with injury. CMC hasn’t practiced with tightness. greatttt
None of this settles anything yet — no suspension has been handed down, and the Rams haven't disclosed what actually knocked Nacua out of Tuesday's session. But with Week 1 against San Francisco already a question mark for their No. 1 receiver, an unexplained early exit from joint practice is the last thing this roster needed heading into the stretch run of camp.
