Russillo's Barstool tour this week started friendly enough. He swung through the Yak, dropped a Pam-from-The-Office hot take that the internet immediately ran with, and did a Life Advice segment that the Viva account was happy to clip up and push. Standard guest-week stuff for a guy who knows how to do podcast rounds.
Russillo, on the Yak, explaining why the Pam character is actually kind of nasty when you really watch the show back.
Then he sat down for SommeliCheah episode 29, and the vibe shifted. Cheah's wine show is a goofy premise on paper but he's gotten very good at using the format as a Trojan horse, lulling guests into sipping and oversharing before turning the screws. Russillo, a guy who runs his own show and is used to being the smartest voice in the room, walked into it.
Episode 29 of SommeliCheah, Russillo edition, in full.
The Yak's own house account has the rare honest summary of what went down. There is no spin here. Cheah cooked him. The merch arm even spun up a Russillo's Sauv Blanc bottle off the back of it, because of course it did — nothing says you lost a podcast like the host turning your appearance into a SKU.
The clip the Yak is using as exhibit A in the manhandling case.
What makes this one land is that Russillo isn't some easy mark — he's a 20-plus-year radio guy who has out-argued bigger names than this for a living. Getting visibly handled on a wine show, of all places, is the kind of thing that follows you around the Barstool group chat for a while. Buy the bottle. Mock the man. Repeat in 2 weeks when episode 30 drops.
