Sanders took over Cleveland's starting job in Week 12 last season, got a couple more starts, and was named the guy for the rest of the year while Deshaun Watson sat on the PUP list. That late-season audition is exactly why this camp battle carries weight -- Sanders isn't some third-string long shot trying to leapfrog a healthy incumbent, he's picking up where he left off.

And he's doing it with style. Sanders connected with Denzel Boston on a snag that had Browns Twitter buzzing, part of a stretch where the receiver corps looks like it's building real chemistry with the sophomore quarterback.

Watson, meanwhile, is having the camp nobody in Cleveland wanted to see. Six interceptions across four practices is a brutal stat line for a quarterback trying to prove he's still the guy, especially with a $230 million contract that's set to run out after this season.

The wrinkle: Watson isn't just playing for this year. Even as the picks pile up, he's reportedly told people close to him that he'd be open to signing a new deal with Cleveland once his current contract expires -- a sign he still sees himself as part of the long-term plan, turnovers and all.
