Taylor Swift's Showgirl Encore Adds 4 New Songs Sept. 25

The timing was rough for Keegs, though. She had just been on Fox & Friends that morning, and the biggest Taylor news of the fall landed about an hour after she got off the air. So she did the next best thing: went home, got on the couch and filmed her own reaction.

About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history. The story behind the new songs is very on brand. According to Swift, she went to Sweden with Max Martin and Shellback, her Showgirl collaborators, to celebrate how well the album did. There happened to be a studio there. "We did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs," she said. Most people take a victory lap by booking a nice dinner. Taylor comes back with 4 more tracks.

What matters here is that it isn't a vault release or acoustic versions or a remix bundle. These are new Max Martin and Shellback songs, the same team that made Showgirl, and they're going onto the album itself nearly a year after it came out. For an album that's already huge, it's a good bet it goes right back to the top of the charts and every streaming list next week.
