Terrion Arnold's second act in the NFL is starting under about as strange a cloud as it gets. The former Lions cornerback plans to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, months after Detroit released him following his arrest on felony charges tied to an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.
Multiple reporters had the news breaking within minutes of each other Wednesday night. Jordan Schultz reported Seattle was expected to sign Arnold, calling it a fresh start for the former first-rounder out of Alabama, while Schefter laid out the fuller picture: Arnold visited the Texans, Saints and Giants before deciding Seattle was the spot.

He was arrested in June, posted a $1 million bond, and denies any wrongdoing. Detroit released him shortly after his arrest, and he cleared waivers as a free agent while the case played out.
Per ESPN's reporting, Arnold signed a one-year deal with Seattle and projects as competition at the No. 3 cornerback spot — but his actual availability is still up in the air. The NFL now has to decide whether to place him on the Commissioner's Exempt List, which would let him collect a paycheck and attend meetings but bar him from practicing or playing while the league investigates.
There's a football thread here too, and it's not nothing. Schefter noted Arnold's Seahawks workout actually aired on Hard Knocks, with GM John Schneider shown earlier in that same episode talking about the idea of bringing him in. Add in that Arnold is reportedly close with Seahawks QB Jalen Milroe, who apparently vouched for him as a locker-room fit, and this wasn't some out-of-nowhere flier.
