Surviving Barstool Season 5 Episode 1: 18 Co-Workers Compete for $250,000!
TLDR: Eighteen Barstool employees walked into three tribes for $250,000, and the season's first hour did two things at once: it put a real hidden immunity idol in one man's pocket, and it let the whole company hear that half the cast had agreed to work together before anybody arrived. Two tribes went to a council on night one, and both votes came out of that same announcement.

What the hour actually established is the shape of everything since: the New York office moves as a bloc, the Chicago office knows it, and the players nobody has placed in either are the ones who spend the season getting written down.

The pregame deal was not a secret and never had a chance to be one — it had been said on a podcast before the cast arrived, which meant every tribe knew which of its own were already spoken for. Roach's council turned on it. Ella Greifenstein repeated something Tommy Smokes told her in confidence to the rest of the tribe, hours after that.
Tommy was the name everybody said and nobody wrote, which became the pattern of his season. He took two votes and stayed, and his own summary of the night is the funniest accurate thing said about it: everyone is ready to vote Tommy Smokes out first until it is time to vote Tommy Smokes out first.

The season's advantages are not hidden in trees, they are missions — do the thing on the scroll and an idol pays out. Rone completed Clean Sweep and found the real one on the floor of Dave Portnoy's office while another player was looking straight at him.
The rest of the house spent the same hours doing the version of an idol hunt that a Barstool office allows, which Rone documented himself: Meek Phill showed him a door handle and asked whether it was an idol.

Ella went 4-2 at the Roach council. Snake's went 5-1 on Mike Katic — the four New York players wrote the name in front of them and he went home without unpacking. Both cards that are legible on the tape were read off the frames, which is where the ballots on the season page come from.
