Austin and Hannah fallout pulls in Annika, Dave Portnoy

Whatever actually happened between Austin and Hannah, the Barstool building spent 2026-08-05 talking about nothing else. It started as office gossip and ended with Dave Portnoy himself typing out a lengthy statement, which tells you this was never just a two-person problem.

Rone’s talking about Austin and Hannah

Rone didn't just mention it in passing, either. He reportedly ran through what he called three separate problems he has with Austin, and the tone only escalated from there. By that afternoon Hannah herself showed up on Out and About, and Kelly Keegs framed it as a chance to get things on the record: some questions answered, some left open, some new stuff surfacing along the way.

“Do you think that Annika and Hannah’s relationship is salvageable?” -Rone “No, that shits cooked… Hannah was a terrible friend to Annika” -Nicky Smokes

That's where Annika enters the picture. Nicky Smokes didn't hedge, saying the friendship is done and that Hannah was a bad friend to Annika. Hannah pushed back on her own episode, saying it wasn't cool that private conversations and details about her were being aired out publicly, and that she'd never do that to Annika in return.

“What do you feel about your friendship status with Annika right now?” -Keegs “It just fucking blows. Especially to bring up conversations we had in private or hint at details about me like hooking up with other people. I just think that’s not cool to say publicly, I think that’s not nice and airing that shit out isn’t cool. That’s I just would never do to her” -Hannah

Then Dave weighed in, and not lightly. He laid out that Annika wasn't originally supposed to be back for the Spring Break storyline because people were tired of the Annika-and-Smokes arc, that she begged her way in and promised not to repeat it, and then immediately did anyway, forcing him to step in. He also addressed the Craig Conover appearance directly, saying he never told anyone to hook up for a storyline. His pointed line: if Austin told Hannah, and Hannah told Annika, that's on Austin abusing his position.

Keegs, for her part, wasn't backing off letting Hannah tell her side. Someone came at her for giving Hannah too soft a platform, and she fired back that anyone who comes on Out and About gets to say what they believe is their truth, whether or not it lines up with reality.

Hard disagree. Anyone who comes on @OutandAboutpod can say what they think is their truth. Whether that’s reality, only time can tell. As witchy as I am, I can’t control the version of themselves that people want to present to the world!

By later that night Keegs was calling the beef squashed, though her follow-up tweet -- telling a co-worker she wouldn't be so sure about that -- suggests the story isn't fully closed. Between Rone's show, Out and About, the Yak, and now Dave's own public statement, this thing has already run through basically every corner of the company. Whether Austin, Hannah and Annika actually patch things up privately is a different question than whether Barstool stops talking about it.
