Fasoli is back for Internet Invitational episode 1

The tournament has 64 creators playing for $4 million, and the Barstool accounts spent premiere day hyping the guy holding the camera.

How can you not love Fasoli?

Calling him the king fits. Nick Fasoli didn't win anything at the first Internet Invitational. He became a storyline anyway. Trying to help a guy find his ball, he drove a golf cart through the fence on that same hole, and Barstool wrote it up as the worst hole you could ever have on a golf course without swinging a club. Paige Spiranac, Grant Horvat and Wesley Bryan were all in that field, and the producer still walked out of Missouri as one of the most memorable people there.

When Dave calls a producer a celebrity, that isn't really a joke anymore. Fasoli has turned into one of those background guys the audience now wants up front, and Barstool has noticed. The main account and the Invitational account both pushed the same clip on Monday with nearly the same caption: how can you not love Fasoli. Episode 1 also gave the fans something new, with Francis needling him on the course.

Fasoli wasn't the only Barstool guy getting roasted on day 1. Dave also took a shot at Frankie, posting footage of Frankie's group in a tight spot on 18 with the match all square and a dig about how he handles pressure compared to last year's event. The clip doesn't show how the shot finished, and that's probably the point.

Good to see my guy Frankie has improved how he performs under pressure since last year's @Internetinvite t.co/PAYhqQaRr3

Like last year, the event is at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. It's bigger this time: 64 players instead of a small creator field, a captain draft to build the teams, and match play to settle the title. There are 6 episodes on Mondays and Thursdays at 1pm ET across the Fore Play, Bob Does Sports and Internet Invitational YouTube channels. Episode 2 is October 29 and the finale is November 12. Expect more Fasoli. Barstool clearly knows what it has in him.
