Mintzy's Milwaukee World Series expense gets denied

TLDR: Mintzy wanted a Barstool social staffer to follow his World Series weekend in Milwaukee and to expense the trip, and on Monday The Yak put the text that said no on air.

The pitch came in late, and it came in the form of an itinerary. The Yak put Mintzy's weekend plan on screen, texted straight to the crew.

Mintzy's weekend itinerary for Milwaukee was quite the last minute ask

Look at that schedule. Saturday is a Brewers tailgate, then a block party, then the 6:30 Ole Miss-Texas game alongside a pop-up World Series Game 2 watch party at Mo's. Sunday starts at 8:30am with Mintzy looking for a bar showing Saints-Steelers from Paris. That's a lot of moving around for one guy, and he thought a social person could turn it into content. The timing made sense. This is Milwaukee's first World Series in 44 years, and the city went nuts for it.

Then came the money. A second batch of texts shown on the Yak lays out Mintzy's case: the Airbnb is only $650 total, it's $3000 to get in, and he'd keep expenses under $1000 total. There's a TickPick mention and a line about Big Cat, plus a note that it was too late to give up the weekend. The thread ends on the blue bubble that settled it.

"Daniel actually just got back to me and said denied sorry man." That's the whole verdict. Nobody wrote a memo. Nobody asked for a revised budget. The company said no and the Yak got a segment out of it, which is probably the most Barstool way an expense report could end.

Milwaukee isn't a new beat for Mintzy, either. Earlier this month he was all in on a guy he met on the train up there, a gambler who claimed to have ticket hookups in Chicago and Milwaukee. White Sox Dave called the setup fishy after Mintzy apparently handed the guy $400 for Division Series tickets. On VIVA TV on 10-09, Mintzy was still standing by his new friend.

“I hung with him in Milwaukee. I know he has a black card because he caught me meals. I believe him.” – Mintzy

So his feelings about Milwaukee were already built on free meals and a lot of faith. And the weekend he was trying to expense turned out to be a big one. The Brewers came back from 4 runs down to beat the Rays 5-4 in Game 2 on Saturday and took a 2-0 lead in the Series before it moves to Tampa Bay for Game 3.

Denied or not, it sounds like he went anyway. On Monday he posted a breakfast sandwich review from his way out of town.

That's the content the social staffer would have shot, and Mintzy made it himself for free. The real question is whether this pitch comes back if the Series returns to Milwaukee. The Yak would be happy to read that thread on air too.
