Barstool Sports Advisors Week 7 teases Jerry, Stu exit

TLDR: Week 7 of Barstool Sports Advisors dropped Friday night asking whether Jersey Jerry and Stu Feiner are leaving the show, and by the end of the night Big Cat had apologized to Stu and offered to quit Barstool to work for him.

The episode went up under a cliffhanger of a title: "Are Jersey Jerry & Stu Feiner Leaving Barstool Sports Advisors?" Before anyone got an answer, there was still a card to read, and Jerry still had a Steelers pick to give.

Jerry’s “French” accent

That's the Advisors formula. The guys put on costumes, do bits that fall apart halfway through and give picks with total confidence, and Jerry riding the Steelers is about as reliable as anything on the card. The "are they leaving" question is the oldest trick in the Barstool playbook: put it in the title, tease it in the promo and let people find out for themselves.

For anyone new here, Stu Feiner is "The Source," a handicapper who has been picking games since 1981 and had a $16 million business by 1997. He got a second life after showing up on Pardon My Take in 2017. On Advisors he sits across from Dave Portnoy, Big Cat and Jersey Jerry, so a question about Stu and Jerry walking away is basically a question about half the desk.

About an hour after the episode went live, Stu came out swinging at his own co-host, and he posted the episode's tearjerker promo to go with it.

Is Barstool Sports Advisors ENDING!? Week 7 of Barstool Sports Advisors is LIVE⬇️

Nobody should be calling a grief counselor. The tissue moment is a staged bit built for the promo, and Stu's heartbreak runs on the same fuel. Still, being made to feel "so small so insecure so less than" by Big Cat is quite a sentence. And whatever happened on that set, Stu didn't stay mad for long.

Big Cat still had to sort it out, and he did it the Big Cat way. He didn't defend himself. He went all the way in the other direction and said he'd leave the company.

@StuartFeiner I already apologized and hugged it out. A momentary error. I’ll quit barstool right now and come work for t.co/IM5yQ93kZY. Just say the word!

So the guy on the show who's supposedly leaving gets a resignation offer from the guy who's staying. Stu accepted the apology within the half hour and spent the rest of his night posting love letters to Big Cat. Nobody has said Jerry or Stu are actually going anywhere, and the episode title is a question, not an announcement. Next up: whether Jerry's Steelers -3.5 hits on Sunday, and whether Week 8 gets a new feud or Stu and Big Cat are still hugging it out.
