Malosi Togisala tapes over rangefinder at Invitational

TLDR: A year after a slope scandal followed him through the Internet Invitational finale, Malosi Togisala showed up to the 2026 event at Big Cedar Lodge with tape over his rangefinder.
Malosi has clearly heard every slope joke on the internet for 11 months, so he got ahead of this one himself.

Malosi wasn't taking any chances when it comes to having his slope on at this year's Internet Invitational
To get the bit, you need the backstory. In the 2025 finale, Malosi played on a team with Paige Spiranac and Frankie Borrelli, and he was accused of using the slope function on his rangefinder. That's a feature that adjusts yardage for elevation, and it was banned for the event. People combed through his cart camera like it was the Zapruder film. Malosi pleaded his case with "Bubbie, I'm not being that guy," and since nobody could prove it on video, his team kept playing.
Then it got better. Days later on the Good Good Podcast, Malosi admitted the slope really was on, though he says only for the first hole. His group had the tournament's very first tee time, and by his account they didn't hear about the no-slope rule until they were walking off the opening green. He said he would "die on this hill." The internet never let it go, and the team that beat his in the final, Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis and Cody "Beef" Franke, walked off with the title.
So the tape is a full plea of no contest. If the screen is covered, there's no slope reading to fight about. It's also the right way to handle a scandal on the internet: lean into it before 64 other players and a few million commenters do it for you. Every Barstool account had the clip up within minutes of each other.
The stakes are bigger this time. Season 2 grew to 64 players, including Johnny Manziel, Justin Gaethje, Andrew Santino and Dude Perfect's Tyler Toney, and the prize money is up to $4 million. Episode 1 dropped Monday, October 26 at 1 p.m. ET on the Fore Play YouTube channel. Episodes run Mondays and Thursdays, and the event wraps November 12.
What to watch: whether the tape stays on all week, and whether anybody still tries to put Malosi on trial anyway. Last year proved one cart-camera frame can turn into a whole storyline in this event. He's at least made sure that this year, the rangefinder can't be the thing that gets him.
