Lionsgate's Jason Statham thriller Mutiny doesn't hit theaters until August 21, but Barstool Chicago already ran its own promotional event first: a boat cruise premiere party, tagged @mutinymovie and @Lionsgate the whole way through. It should have been a normal night of free food, a big screen and a movie poster on the dock. Instead it turned into the Ben Mintz injury tour, and somehow that's the version of the night everyone is still talking about.

Getting Mintzy from the dock to the top deck turned into its own odyssey, boot and all. He needed help storming the buffet, help getting up the stairs, and eventually a wheelchair to finish the job — with a full-on Barstool escort assembling around him as he went.

Dave Portnoy couldn't help but narrate the whole production, cracking that the funniest part wasn't Mintzy's ankle at all — it was watching random Barstool employees materialize out of nowhere on the top deck, one by one, until the whole crew had somehow assembled around him. Big Cat piled on too, joking that a single ankle injury had aged the guy 30 years and that he deserved a thank-you for his service.

The premiere itself, by all accounts, actually delivered — an outdoor screening with fireworks, a skyline backdrop and enough buzz around the Statham vehicle to make the night feel like an event rather than just a work outing. But even two days later, the discourse hasn't moved past Mintzy. Hank Lockwood posted that Mintzy's 'performance' that night took his breath away and compared him, only half-jokingly, to Andy Kaufman — a line that stuck around long enough for other coworkers to keep quoting it well into the next day.

Quigs summed up the general office mood best, admitting the whole saga is probably maddening for anyone watching from outside Barstool but that he personally can't get enough of it — calling it his favorite version of Mintzy yet. That's really the story here: nobody set out to make Ben Mintz's ankle the headline of a movie premiere, but a walking boot, a buffet and one very patient wheelchair pusher did exactly that, and the bit shows no signs of dying down before Mutiny even hits theaters.
