Bussin' With The Boys says Barstool Yak is copying them

It's a wild thing to accuse anybody of copying a podcast that features a guy talking in front of a suit of armor, but here we are. Bussin' With The Boys, the show Taylor Lewan and Will Compton built into a monster after leaving Barstool, apparently went on air and suggested people are ripping off their show. The Yak clipped it, and BFW responded like a man personally offended.

The Bussin' guys are saying people are copying

There's some real history baked into this one. Lewan and Compton built Bussin' With The Boys inside Barstool before taking it independent and eventually striking a deal with FanDuel, turning it into one of the biggest sports podcasts going. The Yak, meanwhile, is Barstool's current flagship afternoon hang, running weekdays with a rotating cast that includes Big Cat, KB, Rone, Danny Conrad and BFW. So when the guys who left start pointing fingers at the guys who stayed, it's not just a podcast beef — it's a little bit of a family argument.

BFW didn't take the accusation lying down. "The bussin with the boys guys are accusing me of copying somebody?!" he said on air, before going full scorched earth: "I'm just gonna say interesting things and not suck everybody's dick like those guys do. They've made an entire career out of dapping and taking pictures with coaches." Big Cat, for his part, kept it simple and called the whole claim "unbelievable."

Whether there's any actual substance to a copying claim is beside the point — podcasting doesn't really have patents, and every sports pod on earth is some version of guys in chairs talking about games. What makes this one land is the subtext. Bussin' With The Boys turned player access and locker-room relationships into a brand, and BFW's jab about "dapping and taking pictures with coaches" was a direct shot at that exact identity.

Don't expect this to end with a group hug. Both shows are big enough now that a little manufactured friction is good business for everybody involved, and Barstool's ecosystem has never shied away from an internal shot or two. Keep an eye on whether Lewan or Compton fire back on their own feed — if they do, this stays alive well past a single Yak segment.
