Ronaldo And Georgina Are Married, After Fans Crashed The Wrong Wedding

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are officially married, days after thousands of fans stormed the wrong cathedral looking for them.

The rumor mill had this one circled for weeks: Ronaldo and Georgina, tying the knot at Se Cathedral in Funchal, Madeira. So on August 8, roughly 2,000 fans and a swarm of journalists packed the streets around the church with phones up, positive they were about to catch the wedding of the year.

They caught someone's wedding, just not that one. The bride at the altar was named Nicole, the groom was Fabio, and neither of them plays for Al Nassr. According to the cathedral's own Facebook post, the crush of tourists and press got so bad they had to shut the doors just to let the actual ceremony happen. Ronaldo reportedly found the whole thing hilarious, reacting to the story on Instagram with a string of cry-laughing emojis.

Then, days later, Barstool broke the real news: while the world was staking out a cathedral in Madeira, Ronaldo and Georgina had already married in a private ceremony, reportedly a low-key civil affair in Cascais with their kids around them.

The timing tracks. Georgina publicly announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, ring and all, after 9 years together. This wedding reportedly landed almost exactly a year later, on August 11, closing the loop on one of soccer's longest-running will-they-already-be-married sagas.

Congrats to the newlyweds! https://t.co/HfLpXVptD9

It's a fitting cap to the story: the most photographed couple in soccer managed to pull off the one thing nobody expected from them, actual privacy. All those camera phones aimed at a cathedral full of strangers, and the real thing happened somewhere else entirely with basically no one watching.

Congrats to the newlyweds. Nicole and Fabio too, honestly, they got a wedding crowd most couples would kill for.
