Dante teases next Thursday's Barstool Presents on the Yak

The plug came on air in the middle of the 10.16 episode, with the full crew in the chairs and Dante doing the selling.

Dante with an ominous tease

Dante's own caption was just the name and the date: Barstool Presents, next Thursday. The Yak account had already posted the same clip about 20 minutes earlier under the caption "Dante with an ominous tease," and that word is doing a lot of work. A show plug is usually a plug. When the flagship account goes with "ominous," it means whatever Dante has lined up isn't a guy reading a promo card.

What it actually is, he's keeping to himself. Nothing he posted says who's on the bill or what's going to happen. That's the point of a tease, and nobody should pretend to know more than he's said yet. All we really have is the date and the vibe, and the vibe isn't calm.

About 25 minutes after his plug, Dante posted again with no words at all: the old "If he dies, he dies" Rocky IV reaction gif, the cold stare the internet uses whenever it doesn't care how something ends for somebody.

He didn't say what the gif was answering, so it isn't a confirmed preview of anything. It's a meme. Still, it came from the same guy, the same afternoon, a few minutes after an on-air tease the show itself called ominous. Read it however you want. For an event pitch, it isn't a reassuring one.

So the thing to watch is next Thursday. Between now and then, the Yak gets a week of episodes to drop more hints. The crew can't sit on a secret for long, so expect more details to come out on air before the show does. Whatever Dante has planned, he's made sure people will be watching to see if it goes wrong.
