Dave Portnoy rips LeBron James for sipping a fan's wine

TLDR: LeBron James crashed into the stands, grabbed a Sixers fan's wine and took a sip in the middle of Philly's 126-107 win over the Bulls, and Dave Portnoy says anyone else would be headed to AA.
El Presidente was not charmed. A few minutes after the clip started going around Monday night, Dave Portnoy logged on to complain about the double standard.

If anybody else did this they’d be checked into AA but because it’s Bron Bron Sportcenter will do an hour special on it. Who cares the example it sets for kids that you need to be drunk to play sports?
Here's what actually happened. LeBron went into the stands after a loose ball and ran into Troy Clemons, a longtime Sixers season-ticket holder who was walking back to his seat with a drink. Some wine went on Clemons. LeBron said sorry, took the cup out of his hand, had a quick sip, handed it back and jogged back onto the floor like nothing happened. The fans around them loved it. ESPN's Kris Rhim talked to Clemons after the game and confirmed it was wine.
Dave's point is the old LeBron rule: if a guy on a minimum deal does this, it's a sobriety story, and if LeBron does it, it's a viral moment with music over it. He's half joking. Only half, though. Most of the internet went straight to the GOAT debate and skipped the morality part completely.
It still feels strange to type that LeBron is a Sixer. He signed a 2-year, $8 million deal with Philadelphia in the summer for his 24th NBA season, after 8 years with the Lakers, and joined a lineup that already had Jaylen Brown after the trade from Boston. So far it's working. The Bulls game took them to 7-1, and LeBron finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists on a night when the wine sip is the only thing anyone will remember.
The best part was the guy holding the cup. Clemons couldn't have cared less. He didn't keep the cup as a souvenir. He threw it out and went and got a fresh one. Then he gave a postgame interview that made the whole thing sound totally normal.

“At the end of the day… he another man, like me.” It’s just another day for the Sixers fan who LeBron had a sip of wine from
"He another man, like me" is about as Philly as a quote gets. A season-ticket holder gets wine spilled on him by a 4-time champ, shrugs and goes back to his seat. Whether the league says anything about a player drinking from a fan's cup mid-game is still open. Some outlets have already asked if a fine is coming. Until then, LeBron's still winning in Philly, Dave's still mad about it, and Clemons is out one cup of wine.
