Orange team storms back to win Barstool's DK Road Trip finale

DK Road Trip sent 3 Barstool squads on a straight-up, winner-take-all sprint across 1,400 miles to reach Rone in Texas, with a $10,000 bonus bet waiting for whichever team crossed the line first. By the final stretch it had come down to two teams, Orange and Black, both scrambling to close the gap before the other could seal it.

Orange caught its first gut-punch when word came through that Black had already locked up a spot at the last challenge. The reaction inside the Orange van, caught on camera, was not exactly celebratory.

Black got there first for a reason. Part of the final leg had to be covered on foot, and Black's Mintzy made the walk in a boot on one leg while a teammate tracked the group's progress down a rural highway. The grind paid off, and Black's crew touched down at the challenge site in a grassy field with a house behind them, targets already waiting.

That should have been the ballgame. Black had all 3 targets left to hit and a clean runway to finish it off. Then the Orange truck rolled through the property's stone gates, and the two teams were suddenly racing the same slingshot-and-archery setup side by side.

THAT’S THE ORANGE TEAMS MUSIC Just as the Black Team thought they might be in the clear, the Orange Team has arrived at their final #DKRoadTrip challenge.

Orange caught up and then some, hitting targets fast enough to flip the outcome in the final minutes. The team celebrated with high-fives and an on-camera interview next to a novelty check for the $10,000 bonus bet, and pretty much everyone in the replies agreed it wasn't close in the end. Mike Katic, riding with Orange, put it bluntly: never a doubt for the squad. Jersey Jerry kept it simple too, just congratulating the winners.

There was, technically, a 3rd team in this thing. Kelly Keegs noted that Green showed up 10 minutes after the stream had already ended, calling it a fitting end to the whole event while still tipping her cap to Orange and Black for the grit both teams showed getting there. Mintzy, stuck going home empty-handed with Black, still framed it as a fight, posting afterward that he'd given it hell out there. Between the boudin balls, the barn full of ribs and Dana Beers demanding the bonus bet get paid out, it was a fitting, food-heavy landing spot for a race that started 1,400 miles away.
