Jerry O'Connell Goes Dark On PMT's Fantasy Football Group Chat

With draft season here, Pardon My Take's fantasy football guru Jerry O'Connell stopped responding in the group chat, and Big Cat and PFT Commenter are spiraling about it.

O'Connell isn't just some celebrity guest who wanders into the PMT world once a year. He's become a legitimate fixture of the show's fantasy football coverage, returning season after season to deliver previews and, in past episodes, even calling his wife on air for permission to enter the league. So when the guy who takes this stuff seriously enough to phone home about it suddenly stops answering texts right as draft prep ramps up, it's a legitimate plot twist for the PMT crew.

The whole thing kicked off when the hosts tried calling O'Connell directly and got nothing. Big Cat's best guess, relayed to Hank on the show, was that O'Connell was off "showering in the bathroom of a gym somewhere, like in the sink" — which is either a wild guess or an inside joke about O'Connell's road-warrior lifestyle. Either way, the group chat has apparently been reduced to speculation.

PFT Commenter took to his own account to escalate the concern, calling O'Connell their "so call 'expert'" and saying he's "very concerned" that their fantasy brain trust has ghosted them right when the league needs him most. It's the kind of bit PMT runs constantly, but with draft season bearing down, there's a real note of urgency buried in the joke — this is prime time for anyone who actually manages a fantasy roster.

Pardon My Take's own account put it as plainly as possible: "JOC has left the fantasy group chat." Whether this turns into an actual bit on the show or O'Connell resurfaces with some excuse before the draft, PMT clearly isn't letting it go quietly. For a podcast that's built entire fantasy football arcs around O'Connell's involvement over the years, going dark on the group chat right now is basically asking to be the next episode's cold open.
